Computer Classroom/Labs - TA Network Connections

School of Business labs offer two types of Network Connections Available for TA Office PCs:

  <% Select Case dpt Case 1 %> <% end select %> <% Select Case dpt Case 2 %> <% end select %> <% Select Case dpt Case 3 %> <% end select %>

In this type of connection, your PC will join the Grainger domain and you will actually login to the Grainger domain when you start your PC.

The benefits of this type of connection are easy access to Grainger Network Resources such as network share space and shared printers.

The drawback is that your machine will be subject to the same restrictions that the TA Lab PCs are subject to. This means you will be unable to install any software on your PC while you are logged in and you will only be able to run the programs that have been authorized for the labs. You will also lose the ability to make changes to your PC.

With this type of connection, we hook you up to the campus network only.

You will not be a part of the Grainger domain and you will only login to your PC, not the domain.

You will have access to the internet and to email, but you will have limited and restricted access to the Grainger Network Resources.

You will still be able to use the printers in the TA Lab and you will not be subject to any restrictions on your machine.
